At the young age of 23, Sheila Gowland, had one of her kidneys removed at York District Hospital. She unfortunately lost the child she was carrying at the time.
Shiela went on to have two sons and survived with only one kidney for 60 years!
Her son contacted Kidney Research Yorkshire today to leave a donation in Sheila’s memory. RIP Sheila Gowland.
