In remembrance of John Piercy

Some years ago, Sandra Piercy donated one of her kidneys to her stepson.

The transplant operation was successful and On 2nd July 2016, Sandra Piercy joined other Kidney Research Yorkshire fundraisers in walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks, helping to raise several hundred pounds for essential kidney research.

The walkers were supported over the 27 miles/5000 feet trek by several volunteers including Sandra’s husband John Piercy.

After a short illness, John passed away in May 2018 – news received with great sadness by everyone at Kidney Research Yorkshire.  However we were surprised and delighted to hear in October that John’s friends and colleagues at Camalodunum Lodge 660 in Malton had decided to donate £1500 to three local charities (including Kidney Research Yorkshire) in John’s memory.

This donation helps the Charity in continuing its work to support Kidney Research in the Yorkshire region.
